These are the words of commitment that parents promise to fulfill in the baptismal service: “In Christian love you have presented these children for Holy Baptism.  You should therefore bring them to the services of God’s house, and teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments.  As they grow in years, you should place in their hands the Holy Scriptures and provide for their instruction in the Christian faith, that, living in the covenant of their Baptism and in communion with the Church, they made lead godly lives until the day of Jesus Christ.  Do you promise to fulfill these obligations?”

As brothers and sisters in the family of Christ, we all say “Yes!” to this commitment.  Growing a godly life is a journey we join until our last breath.  We are all learners and teachers in the family of faith.

Sunday School meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings between the worship services.  This is the top priority for the Grow Ministry Team.  No matter a persons age or knowledge, Sunday School offers everyone a chance to grow together while learning.  We especially focus on the timeless wisdom of the Bible.

Confirmation is a ministry for 7th and 8th graders to spend some extra time in learning the Bible, building relationships, gaining an understanding of Lutheran theology and learning about Christian service.  Our hope is that they will be able to affirm their faith and continue as members of the church.

Seminars, Retreats and opportunities to experience summer Bible Camp are also a rich part of the Grow Ministry.

Baptism is the central sign of God’s commitment to us as His children.  Pastor Scott will work with young and old to prepare for baptism.  Welcome to the Family! is a booklet we use to prepare families for the commitments involved in Baptism.

Welcome to the Lord’s Table is a booklet that we use as the basis of preparation for children to begin to receive Holy Communion.  We do not have an age requirement for children to begin receiving communion.  When children and parents, with Pastor Scott’s guidance, believe it is time and are prepared, they are able to begin receiving this meal.

“It is he(Christ) whom we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” Philippians 3:28

“But as for that (seed) in the good soil, these are the ones who, when they hear the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patient endurance.”  Luke 8:15

“...we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped,  as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.”   Ephesians 4:15-16
