Yellow Zone

- The Serve Core Ministry team is responsible for helping people discover their God-given gifts through a Spiritual Gifts Inventory.  We want everyone to experience a  rewarding ministry and believe that happens when you focus on using these gifts.

- The Joy Bunch is a group that crochets afghans and makes quilts that are given to aid organizations for people in need.

- The service opportunities are limited only by our imagination and the needs around us.  Some examples of our service activities are Habitat for Humanity, Storehouse West (food bank), Peanut Butter and Jelly.  People have given their time to help children at local schools and on several of the pueblos. Mission trips to Juarez, Mexico are a part of a program called Casas por Cristo.  Groups build homes on this great adventure of service.

- During the Christmas season we encourage participation in Gifts of Hope.  Gifts are given to agencies that help the neediest of our neighbors.  Donations are made in lieu of a gift to honor a friend or relative.

- We have a fund called the Good Samaritan Fund which is dedicated to helping people in various sorts of need.

- We have joined the ELCA in supporting the World Hunger and Disaster appeals to make a difference for people in dire circumstances.

- We join others in the ELCA Coffee Project which purchases coffee at a fair price from farmers in South and Central America, Asia and Africa.

- Emergency Meals are provided members who are need of short term help because of illness, new births, etc.

- Care Team members take special care to stay in contact with a small group of households. They are the good neighbors of Community of Joy.  Expect a call from them and feel free to share your hopes and concerns.
