Community of Joy Lutheran Church, originally called Rio Rancho Lutheran Church, was founded in late 1987.Services were held in various places including the Italian-American Center and Stapleton Elementary School. In 1990, COJ officially became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Since then, COJ has experienced many ups and downs, but thanks to God and many dedicated people, we are now a joyful and thriving community in Rio Rancho.
In 2004 we moved into our first dedicated facility at 841 Saratoga Drve and have since added on an education wing to accommodate our growing congregation. We invite you to join us as we move forward sharing Christ's love and growing God's family!
Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains is in need of gently used items in good condition. They need furniture, towels, bedding, cookware, tableware and of course, money and gift cards (Walmart gift cards are preferred) are also appreciated. There is a table in the fellowship Area to drop off your donated items. Contact Dianne 505-600-9171 and she will contact Tarrie to schedule delivery times, pickups, or if you have questions.
See Neal Shotwell at 505-228-9808 (cell) for more information.
Please remember to bring pennies, nickels, dimes, etc for Storehouse West to help the needy in Sandoval County. There is a jar for this specificaly in the entryway.
