Worship at Community of Joy
Contemporary style worship services begin at 8:15 and 10:45 each Sunday morning.
We meet each week on Sunday morning for worship services at 8:15 and 10:45. Holy Communion is celebrated at each service. In between services, there are opportunities for children, youth and adults to get involved with educational classes and fellowship. We also host a coffee hour between services. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!
At COJ we see education as faith formation. We are attempting to help people of all ages know the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Our Sunday School curriculum is based on the solid foundation of the Christian Church Year. The Church Year has several important seasons which incorporate the acts of Jesus Christ and his followers, as well, as the great Jewish epoch of faith found in the Old Testament. Children and adults are taught these great events and how God uses the past to enliven and embolden our faith formation today.
Community of Joy Lutheran Church, originally called Rio Rancho Lutheran Church, was founded in late 1987. Services were held in various places including the Italian-American Center and Stapleton Elementary School. In1990, COJ officially became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Since then, COJ has experienced many ups and downs, but thanks to God and many dedicated people, we are now a joyful and thriving community in Rio Rancho. In 2004 we moved into our first dedicated facility at 841 Saratoga Drive and have since added on an education wing to accommodate our growing congregation. We invite you to join us as we move forward sharing Christ's love and growing God's family!
We are located at 841 Saratoga Drive in Rio Rancho, NM.
We look forward to worshipping with you! Whoever you are, wherever you are in life or in your faith journey, there is a home for you at Community of Joy. Come be part of our family and experience the joy!
